Sustainable clothing | Sewing workshop
A 6-day workshop to learn the basics of sustainable clothing design. With an introduction to design and altering patterns, more sustainable ways of sewing and construction, with optional indigo dying, resulting in making a pair of trousers or a skirt to take with you at the end of the week.
The workshop will be led by Laura Akins, a founder and sustainable fashion designer based in England, currently working with multiple brands to develop sustainable clothing ranges whilst running her own sustainable brand A-KINS, producing 100% organic adjustable clothing.
With over 12 years of experience in multi-product design, including outerwear, wovens, jersey, knitwear and swimwear, Laura has gained vast knowledge of sustainable design and construction. Passionate about quality products, good fit and sustainable solutions to have the least impact on the planet as possible.
